About the Initiative

Overview

The NSWBI was created as a tool that enables municipalities and regional governments to spot program differences, assess common performance indicators, and to develop language and definitions consistent for all programs across Canada.

History

In response to an increasing number of requests for solid waste management benchmarking, AECOM launched the NSWBI in 2011. Each iteration of the annual NSWBI program has been built on the foundation laid in 2011. As we move forward each year, we are committed to improving and expanding on new and existing performance measures as well as ensuring that we are collecting quality data and generating benchmarking comparisons that are relevant to our participants' changing needs and interests.
